KETCHIKAN PLANT LOSS IS $ 150,000 Main Buildings at Nakat Packing Corp. at Dixon Entrance Razed; One Man Reported Injured KETCHIKAN, Alaska, Wednesday, May 26.—UP)—The main cannery buildings of the Nakat Packing Corporation, near Dixon Entrance, Southeastern Alaska, were destroyed by fire today with an estimated $150,000 loss, radio reports reaching here said. One man was injured, a radio message from the tender Petrel said. The main cannery buildings, the warehouse and the oil house on the dock were reported burned, with only piling remaining. The cannery had just completed extensive improvements in preparation for the start of summer operations. About fifty men were employed. Pilot. Herb Munter took off with Dr. R. V. Ellis, Ketchikan, to fly to the scene.
