(/P)— After being stalled in snowdrift on the Tanana river near Minto for 36 hours, the Wilkins transpolar expedition supply party succeeded in freeing five sleds today. The aprty which set out THursday from hero on the 700-mile trek to Point Barrow had made a total of 20 miles when stopped by the snow. The men were suffering from the cold and frostbite. The two snow motors and the seven men of the personnel were trying this afternoon to free the remaining five sleds of the supply train in hopes of reaching Campbell's roadhouse on the Nenana-Tanana trail tonight. A high wind was blowing on the river today and the temperature was 15 below zero.
