UP)—The fires of Nome still burned today, for officials opened the concrete vault of the United States courthouse and found the charred records glowing. They were opened for the first time since the $3,000,000 fire that glutted itself on this gold city. Records of the marshal's office were almost completely destroyed, but the files of the district clerk appeared in good condition.
