Summary:Nurse Has News Of Epidemic In North. NURSE HAS NEWS OF EPIDEMIC IN NORTH FORT YUKON, Alaska, May 15 (/P)— Miss Winnifred M. Dalziel, government school teacher, told today of the siege of flood and influenza which struck this Arctic circle community this week. An influenza epidemic was well under way when the ice broke in the Yukon river last Sunday midnight. Privations which followed aggravated the epidemic, more than 200 cases having been treated during the week, with six natives dying. The epidemic was believed on the wane today, with only three new cases reported, although all those ill still were in greatly weakened Miss Dalziel, with four nurses and one doctor, labored almost incessantly at. the 40-bed hospital treating the stricken.
