UP)— Sixteen natives in five influenza-stricken villages in the Tikchik river district, 190 miles north of Nushasak on Bristol bay, were reported dead from the disease here today. Roy Smith, white trapper of the region, took word to Dr. W. A. Borland of Dillingham, and returned to the villages with the physician. A nurse has been sent from Anchorage. All of the villages are helpless because of famine conditions prevailing.
