Summary:Alaska Smallpox Spreading Rapidly. ALASKA SMALLPOX SPREADING RAPIDLY CORDOVA, AlasKa, Dec. 18. (/P)— Smallpox, which has been raging in the towns of Kotzebue and Norton spunds, is reported in radio messages from Anvik to be spreading into the interior. The message said half the supply of vaccine in Anvik on tha Yukon is being sent to Holy Cross, about 60 miles down river, by dog team. There is no apparent lack of vaccine. The radio telling of the spread of the disease was sent by J. W. Chapman, Anvik postmaster, to Governor Parks in Juneau by way of the amateur stations at Anvik and St. George island. The message was intercepted by the radio station at Cordova.
