Jimmy Alien Wins Mushing Derby FAIRBANKS, March 15.—(I.N.S.)—Seven sturdy dogs driven by Jimmy Allen, Tanana, Alaska, native, today won for the second successive year the prized trophy and money award for first place in the annual mushing Derby, greatest sporting event of the porth. The dogs, which Allen uses regularly for freighting during the long, sub-Arctic winters, are of weighing about sixty pounds each. Thev covered the forty-eight miles —three times around the University Loop course in three days—in an elapsed time of three hours, thirty-seven minutes and fifty-nine Seconds. Temperatures were slightly above freezing, too warm for best use of dog sleds. Bergman Kokrines, another Tanana native, driving only five dogs, finished in second place with a time of 3:39.
