Description
Summary:Rex Beach Says U. S. Policy Hurts Alaska. Rex Beach Says U, S. Policy Hurts Alaska TORONTO, Friday, Aug. 21.—(/P) —Rex Beach, United States novelist, came to Toronto yesterday and predicted a gold boom in Alaska if the United States followed Canada's "extraordinary" work of aerial reconnaissance photography and geological research. Beach blamed the present Alaskan slackness on lack of government policy which has throttled development," and the difficulty of obtaining capital. When the inevitable development comes, he hoped it will be scientific like in Canada and "not a mad, blind scramble like the Klondike and Nome rushes."
