Summary:Two Russian Fliers Arrive In Fairbanks: They Light On Harding Lake After 600-Mile Flight From Juneau, Alaska. TWO RUSSIAN FLIERS ARRIVE IN FAIRBANKS They Light on Harding Lake After 600-Mile Flight From Juneaa, Alaska. FAIRBANKS, Alaska, Aug. 11 (JP).—The Russian flyers, Sigismund Levanevsky and Victor Levchenko, en route to Siberia, arrived here from Juneau at 3:10 P. M. (8:10 P. M., Eastern standard time) and alighted on Harding Lake. The fliers left their Juneau moorings at noon (4 P. M. Eastern standard time) for the 600-mile hop to Fairbanks. Their plane carried 270 gallons of gasoline. Levanevsky and Levchenko left Santa Monica, Calif., last week, planning to fly over the top of the world to Moscow to survey possibilities for commercial transportation along that route. Flying the 900 miles from Seattle to Juneau, they were forced down Sunday along the British Columbia coast by poor visibility, but reached Juneau yesterday after making two intermediate stops.
