Summary:Russian Aviators Arrive At Juneau: Were Forced Down Saturday On Goose Island, B. C. RUSSIAN AVIATORS ARRIVE AT JUNEAU Were Forced Down Saturday on Goose Island, B. C. Juneau, Alaska, Aug. 10—(/P)—The Rissian flyers, Sigismund Levanesky and Victor Levchenko, arrived from Ketchikan at 5:46 p. m. (6:45 p. m., PST). Weather Was Bad Ketchikan, Alaska, Aug. 10.—CP)—Pilot Sigismund Levanevsky and his aerial navigator, Victor Levchenko, hopped off at 5:01 (PST) today despite a light rain here and adverse flying weather reports from the north, on a 225-mile flight to Juneau, next stop on their projected U. S.Alaska-Siberian scientific flight. The Russians landed their low-winged red and blue Vultee monoplane here at 12:55 p.m., from Swanson Bay, B. C, where they flew yesterday after being forced down by bad flying weather at Goose island, near Bella Gella, B. C Saturday. Through Henry Gerstman, a traveling salesman who acted as interpreter, Levanevsky related they had been forced down Saturday on their flight north from Seattle at Goose island. They spent the night there but proceeded to Swanson bay yesterday in search of better shelter. With improving weather during last night, they came on to Ketchikan today.
