Summary:Plane That Was Long Lost Found: Captain E. J. Burke's Ship Missing Since October 11, Spotted In Alaska. PLANE THAT WAS LONG LOSTFOUND Captain E. J. Burke's Ship Missing Since October 11, Spotted in Alaska. JUNEAU, Alaska, Nov. 24. (/P) -- Reports here today from White Horse, Yukon, said Pilot E. L. Wasson had discovered the wrecked plane of Captain E. J. A. Burke and two companions, missing since October 11, in the headwaters of the Liard river in northern British Columbia. The reports, which arrived here via Skagway, Alaska, said Wasson returned to White Horse, his headquarters, without further investigation because of shortage of gasoline. He reported the wreckage indicated Burke and his companions were forced down. Wasson said he would return as soon as possible to within about 15 miles of the wreckage and make his way to the plane by foot. Roughness of the country would prevent his landing near the plane, he said.
