Summary:Reindeer Camps Base Of Search: Seattle Girl On Nanuk Tells Of Plans For Eielson Rescue. REINDEER CAMPS BASE OF SEARCH Seattle Girl on oSfamik Tells of Plans for Eielson Kescue. NOME, Alaska, Jan. 9. (/P)—Reindeer camps in the bleak ice and the fur trading ship Nanuk, frozen in the ice at North Cape, Siberia, will soon become the stamping grounds for searchers for Carl Ben Eielson and Earl Borland, airmen, lost while trying to reach the vessel from Teller. That was the message radioed to the outside world today by Miss Marion Swenson. Seattle girl, who is marooned with her father aboard the Nanuk. Miss Swenson's message, written yesterday, did not reach the outside until today. Get First Clew. "Tazret Berdieff. driving one of the Nanuk's dog teams, returned today after being held out since Sunday by the blizzard." Miss Swenson's radio said. "He brought to us what may be the first definite clew as to the whereabouts of Eielson and Borland. Berdieff was told by herders and trappers that Eielson's plans flew low over the reindeer camps in the foothills east of here. "The camps, located by plane several days ago, seem the best place to center the search. We had thought so before and Berdieff's word started definite plans to use the camps as a base."
