Summary:Alaska-California Air Line Shortened. Alaska-California Air Line Shortened SAN FRANCISCO, April 20. (/P) —Fairbanks, Alaska, will be brought approximately eight days closer to California under a new air mail-passenger-express plane service announced today by S. A. Stimson, district traffic manager of United Air Lines. The service will be inaugurated April 26. The schedule calls for a plane departure from San Francisco at 2:50 p. m. each Tuesday, with arrival in Seattle the same evening. A steamer will leave Seattle for Juneau each Wednesday morning, connecting at Juneau wilh Pacific Alaska Airways—affiliated with Pan-American Airways—for the final 4^-hour lap to Fairbanks via the White Horse-Yukon territory. Total elapsed time—four days.
