Description
Summary:The Inside Route. The Inside Route. Prom the Seattle Times: Talking with friends in Spokane, Clyde Pangborn, noted aviator, predicts regular air service, mail and passenger, between the United States and Alaska very soon. The greater amount of service, he is reported to have said, will be by the "inside route," east of the Cascades, with Spokane as the first and last landing in "the States." The first flush of gold discoveries in the '90s led Spokane to foster, even to boom, an inside route to the Yukon and Alaska. For most of those who tried it, it proved a tragic route. The air lanes will afford swifter and safer passage.
