Description
Summary:Quick Shooting Stops Mad Bear. QUICK SHOOTING STOPS MAD BEAR KETCHIKAN, Alaska, June 16. (/P) —An enraged male brown bear, rushing to aid its wounded mate, caused George Walker of Texas to fire his gun so fast Sunday in an effort to stop it that he temporarily deafened Wesley Myers, Ketchikan guide. Walker stopped the bear but the shots, close to the guide's ears, deafened him and caused their yacht to come to port for medical aid. Physicians said Myers will recover his hearing. The party returned to the hunt.
