Description
Summary:Initials Only Clues To Two Sawed-Up Skeletons. Initials Only Clues to Two Sawed-Up Skeletons JUNEAU, Alaska.—(U.P)—A bloodstained identification disk on which the initials, "I. P." were scratched seemed to be the only clue today to two sawed-up skeletons brought here by plane from Taku river. The skeletons were found in brass-bound sandalwood chests near Twin Glaciers lodge on the Taku river by Don Abel and John Pope, employees of the Polaris Taku mine. The chests were in the woods. One skull was fractured. The arms had been cut off with a saw. It was thought the skeletons might be those of two Indians and had been there for years. Two men disappeared in the neighborhood two years ago, however. One of the bodies showed signs that would indicate the legs had been tied with rope. There was little evidence of clothing in the chests.
