NAB EX-CONVICT IN DOCTOR'S ROLE Kodiak Island Prisoner Alleged to Have Posed as Seattle Physician. COKDOVA, Alaska, Jan. 8. (/P)— Building up a successful practice although his only medical knowledge was gained In a penitentiary hospital while a prisoner there, a man said to be Arthur Webb, alleged to have twice stolen another's identity, Is the second man arrested within two months in this section of Alaska while posing as a physician. Webb is held at Kodiak, Kodiak Island, 300 miles southwest of here, for the sheriff in Seattle. Breaking jail in Okanogan, Wash., in 1919, Webb is alleged to have stolen Masonlc credentials in British Columbia, sailed to Alaska and cashed forged checks. He served a term for that, it is charged. When released, it is alleged that he stole surgical equipment from Dr. R. E. McKibben, Seattle, obtained the doctor's money and went direct to Kodiak, taking a stock of whisky and narcotics with him. There he posed as Dr. McKibben. Charges, filed in Valdez, accuse Webb of violation of the territorial narcotic law.
