Alaskan Utilities Enjoined Special to The Christian Science Monitor KETCHIKAN, Alaska—No sooner had the Federal District Court denied a taxpayer's plea for an injunction restraining the city of Ketchikan from going through with the purchase of electric, water and telephone utilities here, than the city' itself obtained a temporary injunction halting the private company from proceeding with improvements. It was charged that the company wan making expensive changes with a view to bringing its value above the recent appraisal, so that the city could not make the purchase within the limits of an authorized $1,000,000 bond Issue.
