Description
Summary:Juneau Suffers Shortage Of Coal. JUNEAU SUFFERS SHORTAGE OF COAL JUNEAU, Alaska, Dec. 25. OP)— Seventy-five tons of coal discharged yesterday by the steamer General W. C. Gorgas were distributed sparingly today to keep Juneau's Christmas fires burning. One of three government-chartered vessels sent from Seattle to relieve strike-bound Alaska, the ship brought 600 tons of general cargo. The coal shortage will continue until Matanuska coal is brought here by the S. S. Arctic, another government-chartered boat, which will bring the coal on its southward voyage.
