NOME COMES OUT IN GALA ATTIRE TO GREET PLANES NOME, Alaska, Aug. 23. -- Miners, prospectors and Eskimos from many points in northern Alaska are here today to witness the arrival of the four United States army airplanes at the finish of their long flight from New York. Advices today were that four planes were at Ruby, 300 miles distant, awaiting favorable weather before attempting the final leg of the northern flight.
