Description
Summary:Arctic Easter Parade: Fur Finery Donned By Alaskans. ARCTIC EASTER PARADE Fur Finery Donned by Alaskans POINT BARROW, Alaska, March 28. — (U.S.) — Eskimo and white residents of the continent's northernmost village "dolled up" today In heavy furs and thick snow shirts 'for an Easter parade along the Arctic beach. Although thermometers hovered about 20 degrees below zero during the day, the 300 inhabitants said the brightly shining sun "reminded" them of spring. Garments which the well-dressed native men, women and children featured in their Easter wardrobes included pink, green, blue, white and black snow shirts, some striped in fanciful designs. Boots are trimmed in similar multi-hued colors and kaleidoscopic designs.
