Although thermometers hovered about 20 degrees below zero during the day, the 300 inhabitants said the brightly shining sun "reminded" them of spring. Garments which the well-dressed native men, women and children featured in their Easter wardrobes included pink, green, blue, white and black snow shirts, some striped in fanciful designs. Boots are trimmed in similar multi-hued colors and kaleidoscopic designs.
