Summary:Girl Spend Yule Near North Pole. GIRL SPENDS YULE NEAR NORTH POLE By Associate Press. NOME, Alaska, Dec. 24. —lf any one could have caught a glimpse of Santa Claus on his annual journey from the north pole to visit the homes of boys ant girls all over the world, it should have been Marion Swonson, little Seattle girl. Marion sailed with her father. Olaf Swenson, on his trading ship the Manuk out of Seattle last summer and on on Christmas eve was ice-bound in the Arctic ocean. Despite the fact that Marion's Christmas is nearer Santa's north pole home than ever get, her celebration was under severe handicaps. She had to make her own Christmas tree out of sticks and green paint. There are no trees for many hundreds of miles. Tufts of rabbit fur and cubes of sugar died with ink were her decorations. No turkey for Marion, instead there will be a Russian ragout with fermented beet juice, elder ducks, reindeer and tea. She has already received a beautiful spotted reindeer fur suit trimmed with wolf fur. The worst of it is there is no girl within many miles to show her present to.
