Summary:Start Hunt For Alaska Salmon: Supplies Already Being Shipped North For The Coming Canning Season. START HUNT FOR ALASKA SALMON Supplies Already Being Shipped North for the Coming Canning Season. SEATTLE, Wash., Jan. 31.--Supplies are not being gathered here for shipment north for the 1919 Alaska canning season. Today the steamer Curacao left for Alaska with the nearly 400 tons of tin plate which will be used in making cans for the packing of the coming season's fish catch. Steamship company officials believe that the next fortnight will see the beginning of a big freight movement in cannery supplies. Boats will sail from here two or three times a week for Alaska points between Ketchikan and Seward.
