Alaska Telegraph Business Gains Increasing importance of Alaska and improving business conditions have resulted in the best March in recent years, as measured by cash receipts and total messages, according to figures released yesterday ,by Maj. Frank E. Stoner, executive officer of the Alaska Telegraph System. Cash receipts for the past month were 21 per cent over those of March, 1935, with 40,000 messages being sent over the system's facilities during the month just ended, according to Major Stoner, who left yesterday morning on the Victoria for an inspection tour of the Prince of Wales Island cable system.
