Description
Summary:Wilkins To Seek Lost Aviator In Far North. WILKINS TO SEEK LOST AVIATOR IN FAR NORTH FAIRBANKS, Alaska, Feb. 4. (/P) —Harold Gillam, lost Alaskan flyer, was in radio contact with this city and Barrow, far northern post, early today as Sir George Hubert Wilkins, noted Arctic explorer, made ready to search for him. Gillam, forced down Monday on a hop to Barrow, has been unable to give his exact location. He estimated in his latest communications he is about 80 miles inland. He reported he had seen dog learn tracks about three miles way but no teams had reached his plane. Two dog teams were dispatched from Barrow in an effort to reach the plane. He sent up flares during the light to attract the dog team mushers.
