Summary:Will Rogers Will Rogers On this date a year ago there appeared in the Second Section of The New York Times a dispatch from Will Rogers. It came from Fairbanks, Alaska, and described his visit to the Matanuska Valley colony. It ended with: "You know, after all, there is a lot of difference in pioneering for gold and pioneering for spinach." That was the last dispatch from Will Rogers. By the time it appeared in print he was dead, the victim of an airplane crash while flying with Wiley Post from Fairbanks to Point Barrow.
