Description
Summary:American Indian--migrated from Russia? - The original American came from Russia to the Western Hemisphere, Dr. Wendell C. Bennett, curator of the American Museum of Natural History, announces. Dr. Bennett's theory bears close resemblance to that of other anthropologists, who find the red man's ancestor in the high cheek bones of the Mongolians. He told reporters upon his arrival in New York City after six months in Peru that the Indians went from Russia across the Bering Sea to Alaska and from there southward to beat their drums in every valley of the New World. Dr. Bennett firmly believes the Chimu Indians arrived ahead of the Incas of South America. Thus Dr. Bennett depicts the land of the Reds as sending the red men to America before there were any immigration inspectors.
