Description
Summary:Injunction Halts Pier Picketing: Cannery Workers Hamper Ship Loading. Injunction Halts Pier Picketing: Cannery Workers Hamper Ship Loading. SEATTLE, May 4. (AP)—Superior Judge Lawler issued a temporary injunction today ordering the Alaska Cannery Workers' Union to cease picketing at an Alaska Steamship Company pier here. Picketing, which resulted from the union's dispute with the cannery workers' and farm laborers' union, hampered loading of the company's steamship Yukon Saturday and led to cancellation of sailings of two other ships. The temporary restraining order will be effective until Monday, when the defendant union must show cause why a permanent injunction should not be issued.
