Description
Summary:Cold Wave Eludes Inland Empire. COLD WAVE ELUDES INLAND EMPIRE. Spokane is due to escape another arctic cold wave, say weather observers. The last cold wave that passed north of here and down the east side of the Rockies served up low temperatures of 18 at Memphis, Tenn., 28 at Tampa, Fla., and 30 at New Orleans, Monday night. A new wave of high and rising pressure brought subzero temperatures to eastern Montana and North Dakota during the night, and is backed up by increasing pressure over most of Alaska and northern Canada. However, "not much change in temperature" is forecast for Spokane tonight and Wednesday. The prediction includes "partly cloudy." Today's low temperature was 28, just normal, but four degrees cooler than Monday's minimum. Noon reading was 31.
