(AP)—The Soviet's hard note to Japan on July 1 protesting violation of its territory evoked an equally sharp reply today. Foreign Minister Koki Hirota's note said that Manchoukuo's claim to the Delta island of Santsyaochow, at the confluence of the Amur and Assuri rivers, near Khabarovsk, remained unaltered. Ambassador Constantin Youreneff delivered the Soviet's strongly worded note to Tokyo after a number of frontier incidents.
