Summary:Actor Admits He Will Go: Plane To Take Off About 8 a.m. Today, Probably. ACTOR ADMITS HE WILL GO Plane to Take Off About 8 a.m. Today,Probably Will Rogers, America's No. 1 airplane passenger, will accompany Wiley Post when the noted round-the-world flyer hops off for Siberia this morning. The famous gum-chewing comedian smilingly admitted that he is to be the third member of the aerial vacation party when he arrived unheralded in Seattle last night via United Air Lines. The other passenger on the flight will be Mrs. Post. said. Post announced yesterday that if weather conditions continue to be favorable he expects to take off from Bryn Mawr Airport about 8 o'clock this morning. His speedy land plane has been transformed into a seaplane for the trip, which will be mostly over water, and Northwest Air Service mechanics completed their work on the plane yesterday. Rogers said that he does not expect to continue with Post into Siberia, but that he probably will go with him as far as Juneau. "I've never been Alaska," he said, "and this is a good opportunity. Rogers grinned broadly. "I don't know anything about the plane he has, but if Wiley is the pilot I don't care-he's a marvelous flyer." While Post is taking the jaunt primarily as a hunting and fishing expedition, Rogers declared he was not interested in either of these outdoor sports. "I'll just sit on the plane and keep the wolves away while wiley is out killing game," he said. Although the fact that Rogers was arriving in Seattle became known only a few minutes before the plane arrived, a large crowd was on hand to greet him. Among the notables present were Lieut. Gov. Victor A. Meyers, Mayor Charles L. Smith, W. W. Conner, district governor of the National Aeronautic Association, and officials of the Boeing Air plane Company. "I know all about you," Rogers said when introduced to Meyers, "Yes," Meyers replied. "You referred to me once as Washington's trick lieutenant governor." "Yes, and I also said a lot of nice things about you," he declared. Rogers was entertained at the Washington Athletic Club by a third cousin, Ralph Rogers, and later went to the Olympic Hotel to confer with Post on their flight.
