(AP) Jimmie Pattern's jinx, the "top of the world country," kept him hidden today, and anxious^ watchers on the American Bide of the Bering sea could not determine whether he was still nursing his injured ankle in Siberia, down at sea or flying toward Nome, Alaska Out of the north last night camera a sketchy wireless message to the effect that Mattern had taken off from Anadyr with a soviet pilot. Levanovsky, crack Russian flyer, had been detailed by his government to fly a seaplane from Khabarovsk to Anadyr and take Mattern to Nome, that his flight might be resumed. ,There was no word of Mattern today. The message was unofficial.
