Summary: | Spokane Airport Wins Recognition. SPOKANE AIRPORT WIN RECOGNITION Felts field, Spokane's municipal airport, and a temporary port of entry, has been given special recognition by the foreign commerce bureau of the department of commerce as an important link in the airways traffic system of the United States and Canada. Because of the importance of the Spokane port of entry from the north, the aeronautical division, of the department of commerce has issued a new report showing the merits of Felts field with its night and day service and its commerce department radio station, KCAS, soon to be completed. The Canadian schedule now opens a service, with a break between Edmonton and Fort Murry, that reaches almost to Alaska. Reports from the commerce department observers in Alberta indicate increasing flying activity, with greater interest in landing facilities at Spokane. About a year ago a group of local business men flying in a Mamer trimotored Ford to Edmonton to investigate the Great Bear lake mining discoveries, returned to Spokane and predicted that Felts field would be the American outlet for Canadian air travel.
