Description
Summary:State Road No. 10 To Be Surfaced Near Chelan By Spokane Firm. State Road No. 10 To Be Surfaced Near Chelan By Spokane Firm. Contract for the surfacing of state road No. 10, a crushed rock job of 6.6 miles between the Chelan county line and Pateros, Okanogan county, was awarded today to the Triangle construction company of Spokane on its bid of $15,353, according to Associated Press dispatches from Olympia. Highway construction contracts awarded by the state highway committee all together totaled $368,199. Besides the Triangle contract, others awarded were: State road No. 13 - Clearing, grading and draining about 6.2 miles between Arctic and Salmon creek, Grays Harbor county, to Getz & Brennan of Seattle, at $343,522. Resurface Near Quincy. State road Nos. 7 and 10 - Resurfacing with crushed gravel about seven miles, Quincy east and south, and about five miles, Quincy west, Grant county, to Fred G. Redmond of Yakima at $9324. Because the certified check of Herren & Ewart, Aberdeen, contractors, submitted with their bid was $102 less than the required 5 per cent of their bid it lost the Arctic to Salmon creek contract. Their bid was $342,027, approximately $1500 less than the successful bidder, Getz & Brennan.
