CANNED SALMON ON RADIO : Northwest Packers To Boost Industry In Midwest. CANNED SALMON ON RADIO Northwest Packers to Boost Industry in Midwest. SEATTLE, Jan. 31. (AP)- A nationwide broadcast from Seattle over 43 stations February 14 will advertise the salmon industry of the Pacific northwest and Alaska, it was announced here tonight. This is the first project of its kind from the west. The program will be broadcast from 7 to 8 o'clock from the American Broadcasting company's studio at Seattle, and will be delivered by the ABC western network to the associated stations of the Columbia Broadcasting system at Omaha. The American Philharmonic orchestra will play under the direction of Francesco Longo. The program will open a national advertising program to promote the sale and use of pink salmon by the Associated Salmon Packers.
