Dan Pullen, awarded the distinguished service cross by General Pershing for gallantry in action September 26, as announced today by the war department, was the first cadet ever appointed to eWst Point military academy from Alaska. .Colonel Pullen's home is in Skagway. He spent three years at the University of Washington, was appointed to West Point in 1908 and has been recognized by experts as one of the greatest football players ever turned out by the army school. He graduate clfrom the academy in 1912. Col. Pullen is 3 4 years old.
