May 5.—Claiming the hlghes; numner of bond sales In the third Liberty loan in propertiotion to the population, orficialr of the campaign here wired Secretary of Commerce William C. Redfield asking him to notify President Wilson. Secretary Redfield in a speech here recently promised to wire the president if Ketchikan equaled the record of a Massachusetts town, which holds the national recopd of one of every four of population being a bond holder. Ketchikan has sold bonds to one in three of the population and a message to that effect has been sent Secretary Jtedfield, who is now aboard the steamer Cedar, in which he came here with the American-Canadian fisheries commission. The population of this city is 3000; the quota, $56,000. More than 1000 subscribers took $188,400 worth of bonds.
