Summary:Storm Boon To 'Beach Miners' STORM BOON TO 'BEACH MINERS' NOME, Alaska.— (U.P.) —Beach gold miners today foresaw gain from Nome's most violent storm in 24 years while merchants counted only losses. The storm, which lasted four days and did damage estimated at $160,000, produced huge waves that disturbed gold sands on the beach. Miners anticipated a prosperous summer because of new Damage to the jetty and roadstead was estimated at $80,000; to the Lincoln hotel, $20,000; to the Northern Power and Light plant, warehouse and oil tank, $15,000; to the Lomen commercial dock, $10,- 000, and to other buildings and establishments, $35,000. The storm subsided early Thursday. Today natives were busy salvaging timbers and lumber for their winter fuel supply.
