The heavy seas were the result of a three-day southeast storm. There was a 45-mile-an-hour wind that lashed sleet and rain down onto the town. All residences and business houses on the sea side of Front street were endangered. Anxious citizens spent Wednesday night and this morning evacuating danger zones.
