Summary:Nome Scene Of Fierce Storm NOME SCENE OF FIERCE STORM NOME, Alaska. — (U.P.) — Huge waves boiled through the roadstead here today, chased hundreds of persons to safety and caused an unestimated amount of damage to buildings. The heavy seas were the result of a three-day southeast storm. There was a 45-mile-an-hour wind that lashed sleet and rain down onto the town. All residences and business houses on the sea side of Front street were endangered. Anxious citizens spent Wednesday night and this morning evacuating danger zones.
