Summary:Thirteen Feet of Rain Is Ketchikan's Average Thirteen Feet of Rain Is Ketchikan's Average KETCHIKAN, Alaska—Ketchikan is known as one of the rainiest communities in the world. An average annual rainfall of some 13 feet is recorded by the weather bureau in Ketchikan. In 1926, Ketchikan enjoyed 15 sunny days without a drop of rain. This year, in the 15 days ending Sept. 10, Ketchikan had almost a perfect record. It was marred by the fact that only a trace ef rain fell one night. The record was in marked contrast with one of the rainiest summers in Ketchikan's history.
