Description
Summary:Dimond Asks Amendment Of Alaskan Game Laws DIMOND ASKS AMENDMENT OF ALASKAN GAME LAWS WASHINGTON, July 13. (AP)— Delegate Anthony Dimond of Alaska asked congress today to amend territorial game laws to provide protection for bison and musk ox recently placed on Alaskan ranges. Dimond's bill also asks that areas restocked or stocked with animals not native to Alaska also be protected. He said at present no law exists for the conservation of the bison and musk ox and as a result they face possible extinction by greedy hunters. Dimond also proposed the Alaskan game law be amended to classify Filipinos as aliens. They now are eligible to obtain game licenses as residents of Alaska. Another provision in the Dimond bills would make a false statement given at the time of issuance of a license a misdemeanor rather than a felony as now provided.
