Description
Summary:Trollies Intrigue Alaskan Puckmen TROLLIES INTRIGUE ALASKAN PUCKMEN-- Northern Hockey Experts Arrive in Seattle-- SEATTLE, Dec. 10 (AP)—Utilizing almost every mode of travel but their native dog sled, 12 members of the Fairbanks Polar Bears, Alaska hockey team, arrived here The team, which came "outside" for a series of games in Canada and the United States, went from Fairbanks to Whitehorse, Y. T., via plane; by train to Skagway, by boat to Vancouver, B. C, and thence to Seattle by bus. Take Trolley Ride Then, to top it off, three members who never had been "outside" before and never had ridden street cars, bought a supply of tokens and rode a Seattle trolley around all afternoon. The colorful northerners posed for pictures in their parkas, hooded fur garments made variously of caribou, squirrel, wolverine and— in one instance—unborn caribou, a much softer fur. Walrus-soled mukluks completed the array. The Polar Bears play their first game here next Tuesday night against Eba's Grocery, a Seattle city league team.
