A. W. Nikerson docked the crippled steamer North Sea shortly after 2 a. m., here today—47 hours aftet the craft grounded near Dixon entrance in soupy fog. In contrast with the tired captain were 29 laughing and singing passengers of the 143 who originally sailed north from Seattle, the remainder, bound for northern points, having been transferred to the steamer Victoria or landed at destinations by the coast guard cutter Alert. Only One Pump Needed Only one pump was needed to handle the water in the ship's hold, the bow leaking from crashing ii rocks off point Marsh. And only one word was needec by Captain Nickerson to explain grounding of the ship: "Fog." Captain Nickerson did not i tail the extent of the damages t the North Sea.
