Baldwin sailed shortly after midnight for Seattle, with a shipment of $70,000 in gold in its cargo, after being delayed here for four days by storm and blizzard. The vessel was the last of the year to sail from Nome. In addition to the gold there were 25 live reindeer for Christmas celebrations in the States, 12,000 carcasses of reindeer meat and a shipment of herring were aboard. Twelve passengers also sailed to spend the winter outside. Stops will be made at Nunivak island and Dutch Harbor on the voyage, south.
