Summary:Orville Rogers was born on November 18, 1887 in Pilot Rock, Oregon to Nelson and Lozina Rogers. He stopped in Ellensburg, Washington in 1909 en route to the Seattle Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exhibition and stayed to work at the Ellensburg Evening Record as a printer and machinist. Orville married Olive Smith in 1912 and continued to work for the newspaper until he retired in 1965. He also worked for the Capital Printing Company and following his retirement, he worked with his son Lowell Rogers in the Rogers Printing Company until 1979 when the business was sold. Orville was an active member of the Masonic Lodge and the Presbyterian Church. He died on June 23, 1982 in Ellensburg at the age of 94 years.
