Summary:Waterman district school was organized in 1897 and built on land donated by C. H. Waterman. The school burned in 1921 and was rebuilt on land donated by Frank Robinson as the log cabin school house shown. It was bigger, better lighted, and had a stage. The school was the social center for box socials and dances with fiddle, banjo and pump organ music. The school closed in 1941 and the building was moved, log by log, and rebuilt as a cabin on Echler Mountain.
