Summary:The aim of the current study was to examine helminths of black rat (Rattus rattus) and Norway rat (Rattus norvegicus). Material and methods. Rat trappings were done in buildings by snap-trap lines in the years 2012– 2013. Black rats (Rattus rattus) were caught in Utena and Zarasai districts, brown rats (Rattus norvegicus) in Juodkrantė village and Joniškis district. Rats were examined using the method of total helminthological dissection of individual organs. The intestines, stomach, liver and body cavity were examined. The content of the intestines and of the stomach was studied by the method of consistent flushing. The helminths found were picked out and fixed in 70% ethanol. The helminths were colored with acetic carmine and mounted in Canada balsam on slides or temporary water glycerin preparations were made. Results.
