This paper shortly describes what matters should be considered when evaluating the environmental footprint of ships. As the project was a vessel design project, the effort was put on the operational phase of ship's life cycle and on the emissions to air related to energy consumption in particular. Also emissions to water are shortly discussed. Other Non-Article Part of Journal/Newspaper Arctic VTT's Research Information Portal Arctic Norway
